The Brokering Services team is responsible for the disposition of EDS domestic owned idle computer assets. Five disposition methods comprise our service offering:

  • Internal Placement – Extends useful life of equipment by transferring to another organization within EDS
  • Donation – Improves EDS' public image by donating to a non-profit, non-private organization in the community
  • Employee Gift – Authorizes managers to reward performance by gifting equipment to employees
  • Sales – Authorizes equipment no longer needed within the Corporation to be sold to employees, customers, or secondary market
  • Disposal – Arranges for a contracted disposal company to remove obsolete equipment at no cost to the account or to EDS

Brokering Services also purchases all used computer equipment from secondary market. After-market equipment offers a viable alternative to buying direct from the manufacturer. Equipment purchased from secondary market is refurbished, tested, eligible for manufacturer's maintenance and typically comes with warranty.
